Happiest moment since the start of this year(Compo form)
He picked up the excercise of which I just finished. My heart skipped a beat. Scrutinizing my written work with his usual frowned face, he mumbled, " Meet me after class."What was he going to do? Did I do something wrong? Minutes passed and my partner finally finished her written work. I looked over and saw her almost asleep. I did a good deed by calling her up, right before my teacher looked over. He just wanted to remind me to see him. While he said it, I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. The world around me seemed to darken, leaving only me and him. His words moved slowly and steadily, at a rate that I could understand, but each word felt like a bullet. It shot through my heart and every single part of my body. Five minutes passed. The much anticipated bell finally rang. The hustle and bustle of students striding out the room might seem extremely loud to some, but my focus was just on the teacher. I picked up the piece of paper that he frowned upon, preparing my heart for any long lecture that was about to unfold. As he packed his things, I arrived beside him, alone. " You shall be promoted to band 4 English class," he said, " as long as you score well for your Mid-Year Examination. I've spoken to the English Head-Of-Department about it already. I believe that your learning speed is not of band 5, and that band 4 can set you on the appropriate pace." I couldn't believe my ears. I was preparing for a long lecture, but instead, I got a chance to move up to a better class for my English. This chance was given to me, this once in lifetime chance. No, I must not waste it. |
